There is no doubt about the fact that Air Conditioners not only makes your room cool quickly but also purifies the air of your house. As per the experts AC might help you to sleep better firstly, but this may not be the best idea in long term.

There are a host of reasons why you should not keep your AC on overnight including energy cost and health risks, and they outweigh the benefits of that initial blissful breeze. We reached out to some sleep and appliance expert to gather some extra information on this topic, and their reasoning might change your relationship with your AC for good.

Christine Kingsley, Health and Wellness Director of the Lung Institute, explains “When you sleep at night, your body’s internal temperature drops, which helps promote better sleep’.”However, if the temperature of your AC drops the room temperature lower, your immune system will slow down, making you more susceptible to conditions, such as a common cold or a dry cough.”

Matt Kerr, a Machine Learning Engineer and the founder of Applianced Geeked, explains “ACs consume a large amount of energy, which can add up over time if left on all day”. According to Matt Kerr it is better to run an AC continuously for few hours before going to sleep.
